Getting to Know Pat and Doug:

Personal Biography:

Pat:

    Born in Torrance California .  Graduated from North Torrance High School , attended Cal State Long Beach, and graduated from The University of Houston. 

Her degree (B.A.) was in Human Development and Consumer Science.  She taught Housing and Interiors and Color and Design.  Pat and Doug were married in 1974 and prior to settling in San Diego they had lived in a variety of areas (thanks to the Navy) through-out the USA .  Her hobbies are stained glass, scrap-booking, jewelry making and caring for RADAR the family Papillon Puppy.

Doug: 

     Born in Hagerstown Maryland .  Graduated from Clear Spring High School and the University of Maryland with a degree (B.S.) in Math Education.  He received his Masters (M Ed.) from the University of Houston and taught Naval ROTC at Rice University for several years.  Doug retired from the US Navy as a Commander after 23 years of service.  In the local area he held the positions of XO of Naval Station San Diego and CO of Military Housing for San Diego .  His hobbies include wood working and gardening.

Family History:

    We have lived in the San Diego area since 1980, and feel truly blessed for being able to bring up our family in this environment.  We came to the area when Doug, as a naval officer, was stationed here.  We bought a home in Poway and were able to raise both of our children through the Poway   School District .

     Kristi, our daughter, is currently teaching English at San Marcos High school and Brett, our son, is a senior at Cal State Long Beach finishing a dual degree in Music Education and History. 

   Over the years we have been active in various community organizations and events ( Boy and Girl Scout Leaders, PTA, Soccer and Soft Ball Coach, Band Booster Head Chaperone and Equipment Crew, Grad Nite Chairperson etc.).   We are currently members of Pomerado Christian Church where Doug is an elder and Pat is in charge of decorating.  Pat is also active in the Christian Woman’s Connection.

Professional Experience:

     Pat and Doug are licensed Realtors working in the San Diego area.  Their licenses are under the broker of Prudential California Realty.  Pat has been a licensed Realtor since 1981 and Doug since 1998.  They formed The McCarty Team in 1998.
